How To Bring Personality Into Your Wedding Design
When I start working with a couple to prepare for planning their wedding, my favorite question to ask is “what do you want your wedding to feel like?”
That one question helps me pull out the heart of your day because a great wedding design isn’t just about colors palettes or Pinterest boards. It’s about you.
Here’s how I help couples incorporate their personalities (favorite colors, hobbies, tv shows, vacation spots…) into their wedding design so it feels authentic, memorable and totally “them”.
Start with Your Story
I’m probably going to ask you right away: how did you meet? Where do you live now? What’s your favorite vacation you’ve been on? Do you have any pets? (hi, cat lovers!) Think about the little details that make your relationship special. Here are some ideas to get the ball rolling;
Where was your first date? Was it over coffee? Let’s have a coffee or martini bar!
Places you’ve traveled to. Let’s make some personalized table numbers after places you’ve been.
Favorite songs? Add to your playlist!
2. Colors
Pick colors that feel right to both of you over any trends. Color tells a story before guests even realize it.
Would you say you like classic and timeliness furniture? Pick from whites and creams.
Fun and outgoing? Add pops of color!
Are you a minimalist? Try neutrals and metallics.
3. Decor
Adding custom items make such a big impact!
Signature drinks inspired by your pet!
Table numbers inspired by places you’ve travelled
Put together a welcome table filled with photos of family and friends
Bringing personality into your wedding or other event doesn’t mean you need to go over the top - just a few sprinkles of intentional details will have people saying “that’s so them”.
I can’t wait to work together on some fun inspo!!
